Helping you Train with Pride

"Health & Happiness” is the ethos for MPT Personal Training and the very reason I started doing this. Having various health issues throughout my life (more on that later!), I have realised that exercise has the ability to reinvigorate and make you feel happy and content. I started personal training as I want to help my clients find this feeling too.

ACHIEVING YOUR GOALS Many people will decide to join the gym with a particular goal or purpose. This could be improving your fitness levels, losing weight, gaining muscle, training for a particular sport or event…the list goes on.

My sessions are bespoke to you and set up with your goal in mind. Rather than entering the gym and wondering if you are doing the right exercises to achieve your goals, attending PT sessions makes sure you are doing the exercises that are best for you.

I make it simple for you to reach your targets without worrying if you are on track. Having regular training sessions also helps with accountability and allows you to stay focused on your training. I have always taken great pleasure in helping people and I am great at getting the most out of you and helping you train with pride.

Since becoming a personal trainer, I have also gained qualifications in diabetes management, exercise for older adults, strength and conditioning for athletes and advanced sports nutrition. This has given me a huge amount of knowledge and understanding of how I can help a much wider selection of the population.

Here are just some of the reasons you may choose to see me:

- Athletic strength and conditioning

- Running specific training

- Weight loss and building muscle

- Pre and Post natal training

- Aging population specific training

- Qualified Nutritional support

If someone’s goal is body transformations, I approach the mind and body as a whole, creating an improvement and sense of pride in our mindset will accelerate and drive the physical changes many clients are looking for. I am able to draw on my own experiences with weight loss, having lost nearly eight stone myself.

ABOUT ME So how would I describe myself as a personal trainer? I have decided to ask one of my clients this question, here’s what she said…

“Monica is kind, caring, genuine and approachable. She is a fantastic listener which is what makes her sessions so unique. Monica is extremely knowledgeable and also relatable in so many circumstance. She has a natural ability to adapt her sessions to what is right for me at any given time, whether it be raising or lowering the intensity of training, she just gets it!”

BECOMING A PERSONAL TRAINER My background is as an elite athlete; I am a retired Team GB ice hockey player. 11 years ago, while still playing ice hockey, I gained my PT qualification. I just knew how much I loved helping people and also had a huge interest in pushing the body and working out the recipe for success physically. I then decided to create and develop my business - MPT Personal Training, and here we are today!
